I'm sure most of us have spent the past two or three days rushing to get everything packed up and ready to go, particularly the cycling gear. By now all of us have our bikes boxed up like this:
These will be stuffed into the cargo bay of a plane and hauled up to Hanoi. Speaking of planes, we have already encountered our first problem: a number of us had an 11:50am flight booked through Jetstar Pacific, and today the airliner contacted us saying the flight would be delayed until 4:30. A few people managed to switch to another earlier flight, while the rest of us are taking the later flight. This sucks a little bit, since we all wanted to re-assemble our bikes right when we got into town, but that could be tricky in the dark. Guess that will be happening on Thursday for some of us...
Other than that issue, I personally could not be more excited for this ride. 2,000km through a simply amazing country, while visiting 24 towns and cities between Hanoi and Saigon. Make sure you bookmark this page, because we hope to update on a daily basis until we finish on the 29th. Hope you enjoy it as much we expect to!
