H2H in the new decade

Last year’s ride may have ended three months ago, but the formidable and tenacious H2H juggernaut is just getting started. We’ve been busy lately and lots of exciting things are happening!
First, much of the money we raised has reached the grateful and needy charities we supported, including the Mekong Project. H2H was proud to fund $4,500 of the $28,000 it took to build a school in Tra Vinh Province, one of the poorest provinces in all of Vietnam. Construction on the school will begin in June.
Second, THERE WILL BE ANOTHER RIDE THIS NOVEMBER! You read that correctly. We held two meetings last week with encouraging attendance. We hope to have a group of at least 10 riders, which we believe we should be able to fulfill. We recently held our first practice ride of 45 kilometers down the Nguyen Van Linh Parkway outside District 7 in Ho Chi Minh City. And, of course, it wasn’t without adventure as we had a run-in with some eccentric characters and a motorbike up in flames in the middle of the road. Only in Vietnam!
Third, H2H is proud to be partnering with The Children’s Initiative (TCI) for this year’s ride and beyond. The Children’s Initiative (TCI) is an organization helping children in resource-poor communities via projects currently running in three countries: Ethiopia, Honduras, and Vietnam. All of the money we give to TCI will be used in Vietnam.
Last, but certainly not least, if you missed out on last year’s ride and are keen to ride in 2010, let us know! We’d love to have you.
It’s only March but it’s never too early to get fit in preparation for the ride. Happy Riding!
