Welcome to H2H 2021: Pleiku - Quy Nhon (P2Q?!)
We are living in strange times. Vietnam has responded so well to the challenge of the pandemic and we feel fortunate to be living here, particularly so at this time. Big love to everyone reading this wherever you are in the world. Better times are coming.
The Route: Due to the current context, we're tackling a 5-day cycling challenge from 25-29 April this year. We've teamed up with cycle tour specialists Mr Biker Saigon as ride leaders and we're heading straight for the mountains! Our route covers 350km from Pleiku in the Central Highlands to Quy Nhon on the coast, with plenty of nice hills along the way. It's mountain bikes only this year as we'll be going off-road and using rural trails for large parts of the journey. Though challenging, it promises to be a visually stunning and culturally immersive ride, surrounded by nature, agriculture and rural communities. Bring it on!
The Team: We have 8 riders this year + 4 support staff from Mr Biker Saigon, making a diamond dozen! We are 10 men and 2 women (sorry ladies!) from 6 nations: UK (Emma, Davide, Georges, Chris), Argentina (Horacio, Robin), Australia (Karla), Germany (Juergen), USA (Eric - Mr Biker) Vietnam (Thai, Trong and Hau - Mr Biker). Our first ever riders from Argentina and Germany! And 4 returning H2H riders (the 4 crazy Brits!). Full team pic to follow in Pleiku :)
The Charities: We are supporting our usual 4 amazing children's charities. In different ways they are providing education, fighting human trafficking and responding to the needs of Covid-19 here in Vietnam: Saigon Children, Blue Dragon, Live & Give and ILA Community Network. We're grateful for their ongoing partnership, and to lead partner Saigon Children for their expert help with fundraising and media.
