Day 20 - Kon Tum to Pleiku

This was the day that I had been looking forward to the most on the ride! After a fast 47km to Pleiku and a few hours of down time it was time for our visit to the Live and Give Orphanage, one of the organisations that we help support though H2H.
This orphanage is run by 13 nuns and supports 100 children, with ages ranging from babies to teenagers who are from the surrounding area and villages who happen to be minority groups in Vietnam. Some of the children are true orphans, some are surrendered by their parents who are unable to look after them, some are also disabled.

The site is very sustainable, they produce a lot of their own food and we were graciously treated to an incredible meal provided by the nuns.

After the meal the children performed music on mandolins and sang us some songs. Then we got to play with them for a while before their bedtime. (I personally don't feel comfortable posting pictures of these kids for the internet to see, but feel free to ask any of the team to see these photos in person)

I think this evening reaffirmed for the whole team the reason why we are doing this ride, why we are putting our bodies and minds through such an ordeal, why we are taking a month out of our lives to raise money by cycling 2000km through Vietnam. It's all for the kids and to make a positive change to their lives!
